POLARFRONT

POLARFRONT

Originally launched in the 1970s as a Norwegian weather ship built for Arctic endurance, Polarfront has been thoughtfully reimagined through a comprehensive, eco-focused refit. Today, she stands as a unique expedition yacht that blends maritime heritage with modern design and sustainable innovation. Her robust steel hull remains a testament to her origins, while her upgraded hybrid-engine system reduces fuel use and emissions by more than 40%—a major step forward in responsible polar travel that also enhances comfort and safety at sea.

Inside, Polarfront pairs retro character with contemporary Scandinavian style. Eight well-appointed cabins host up to 12 guests, supported by a professional crew of 11, including two expert expedition guides and a French chef whose locally influenced menus turn every meal into a highlight. At the centre of the onboard experience is the Coriolis Lounge, a welcoming space for storytelling, talks, and relaxed evenings with fellow explorers.

Expansive deck areas offer exceptional vantage points for wildlife viewing, while a hot tub and traditional Finnish sauna add a touch of indulgence after days spent outdoors.
