Life on board naturally changes your routine. Days are longer, you spend more time in the sun, meals happen later, you are busy playing with the water toys in the water and between swimming, travelling, and being outside all day, it’s easy to forget the basics that keep your body feeling good.
At YACHT STORY, we prepare every charter with the full experience in mind. Beyond the itinerary itself, we also care about how our clients feel during their time on board, energised, balanced, and able to fully enjoy the trip.
Here are a few simple wellness essentials we always recommend for life at sea, together with some of the brands we personally like working with.
1. Choose the Right Sunscreen

Let’s start with the most important step: sun protection.
Spending long days outside is one of the greatest pleasures of a yacht charter, but UV exposure is also one of the biggest stressors for your skin. At sea, reflection from the water intensifies sun exposure, making daily protection essential. It is also important to protect the ocean that is why we recommend choosing a reef-friendly, water-resistant sunscreen made with clean, natural ingredients and sustainable packaging.
*One of our preferred partners is Likami, a Belgian eco-luxury skincare brand. Their Daily Defence Fluid SPF50 is a lightweight mineral sunscreen designed to protect the skin while supporting its natural barrier. It is reef-safe, made with clean formulations, and packaged in recyclable materials.
Another recommended brand would be axabio® which offers astaxanthin gummies, which is known for supporting skin protection against oxidative stress caused by UV exposure making daily intake simple and enjoyable. These antioxidants work alongside sunscreen to strengthen your body’s natural defence system and support long-term skin health.

2. Stay Properly Hydrated

Hydration is often underestimated on board. Between sun exposure, salt water, swimming, travel, and late dinners, your body loses fluids more quickly than you realise.
While drinking lots of water is very recommended we can also recommend buying electrolytes which help restore balance far more effectively than water alone. Electrolytes contain different minerals such as sodium, magnesium, potassium and others to help with fluid retention, muscle recovery, nervous system function, sleep quality, cellular hydration, healthy blood pressure and much more.

For high-quality electrolytes and overall wellbeing support, we recommend Push, especially their FLOW electrolyte formula. FLOW is a clean, sugar-free blend of essential minerals, including sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chloride, that helps replenish what the body loses through sun exposure, heat, swimming, and activity. It supports optimal hydration, steady energy levels, and faster recovery throughout the day.
3. Daily Support Through Targeted Nutrition

A few days on a yacht usually means less routine than normal. More sun, more drinks, later dinners, different sleeping patterns, and a lot more time outside.
We’ve noticed that clients often feel the difference after a few days, especially during active charters. That’s why we like to recommend bringing supplements on board that are easy to take during the day.

Insentials is a simple 3-step wellness routine designed to support overall health and recovery while travelling. It starts with a daily multivitamin in the morning to support wellbeing, energy, and essential nutritional needs throughout the day. In the evening, Detox Boost supports liver function and the body’s natural detoxification process, which can be especially helpful during holidays when richer meals, alcohol, sun exposure, and travel fatigue are more common. The third step includes targeted boosters based on individual needs, such as collagen for skin and recovery, or an energy booster with liquid magnesium to support hydration, energy levels, and recovery after flights, long days in the sun, or water activities.
4. Rest, Balance & Enjoyment

Finally, no wellness routine is complete without rest.
A yacht charter naturally invites activity, exploration, and social moments, but true wellbeing comes from balance. Prioritising sleep, hydration, and moments of stillness throughout the day will significantly improve your energy and overall experience. A yacht is not only a place for movement, it is also a space for recovery, presence, and calm.
At YACHT STORY, we believe wellbeing is not an add-on, it is part of the experience. From skincare to hydration, supplements, and nutrition, we carefully curate partners that align with our philosophy of conscious, elevated travel.
Because the best journeys don’t just look good they feel good from start to finish.
