Above and Below the Surface: Yachts Designed for Diving

For guests who feel most at home on the water and feel like drifting on the water is not enough, some charters offer the chance to go one step further → below the surface. Within our fleet, several yachts are equipped to operate as dive platforms, allowing guests to dive directly from the yacht, without relying on shore-based dive centres or fixed schedules. Below you’ll find some practical information about dive charters and some yachts that offer this experience:

4A: An SSI-Certified Dive School

A standout example is 4A, cruising in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. This 39.4-metre Sanlorenzo isn’t just a yacht, it’s a fully equipped SSI-certified dive school, allowing guests to complete official dive certifications during their charter.

Onboard, a dedicated Dive Instructor and two Dive Masters manage all aspects of the experience, from briefing and planning to equipment handling and safety checks. This makes it easy for beginners to take their first steps underwater in calm, controlled conditions, while experienced divers can explore more advanced sites without needing to leave the yacht. The yacht’s layout supports seamless access to the water. The beach club serves as a central hub for preparing dives or snorkelling sessions, while fold-down balconies in the saloon and master suite bring the ocean closer to the living spaces. Guests can move between relaxing onboard, diving, swimming or enjoying water toys without interruptions.

It’s a flexible setup: diving can be scheduled around the itinerary, weather and guest preferences, so the activity fits naturally into each day rather than dictating it. For guests, this means a charter that balances adventure with comfort, a true combination of luxury and marine exploration.

ALICE: Diving in the Maldives

Another Dive charter is ALICE which is located in the Maldives. ALICE is set up for diving and snorkelling across the atolls. On board guests can explore coral reefs and channels known for marine life such as reef fish, turtles and manta rays.

Diving is supported by experienced guides, with sites chosen based on conditions and guest experience levels. When not diving, the yacht provides a comfortable base for cruising between lagoons, visiting islands or relaxing at anchor.

PRANA: Exploring Indonesia’s Marine Life

If you want to go to In Indonesia, PRANA by Atzaró operates in regions including Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat and the Spice Islands. These areas are known for high marine biodiversity and varied dive sites.

On PRANA diving is just one part of the day. Guests can easily switch between underwater exploration, snorkelling, kayaking, or paddleboarding in calm, clear waters. The yacht’s layout is designed for smooth transitions between activities, with well-positioned platforms and storage for diving and water sports equipment.

PRANA allows guests to explore remote reefs and channels that are difficult to access from shore, while still enjoying the comfort and flexibility of a luxury yacht. Dive sites, schedules, and intensity are tailored to guest experience and preferences, creating a charter that’s adventurous without feeling rushed.

How Diving Works on Board

On dive-equipped yachts, diving is integrated into daily life on board. Equipment is stored and prepared on the yacht, briefings take place on deck, and entry into the water is straightforward. Dive planning is handled by experienced crew, making the process simple for guests.

This setup works well for mixed groups. Some guests may choose to dive, while others snorkel, swim or relax on board. Everyone stays on the same schedule, with no need to split up or plan around external operators.

Why choose a dive charter?

Yachts that support diving offer a practical advantage: flexibility. Guests can decide when and how often they want to dive, without committing every day to the activity. This makes dive-equipped yachts suitable for groups with different interests and experience levels, while still keeping the charter relaxed and uncomplicated.

For guests who want the option to dive without turning the charter into a dive-only trip, these yachts offer a balanced solution. They combine comfortable cruising with easy access to the water and professionally supported diving.

It’s a simple way to add another layer to the charter experience, without adding complexity.
